How Long Does CBD Oil Stay in Your System?

With all the talk about CBD oil, many people have been curious to know more about it and if it is right for them. Additionally, those with a job may be fretting due to the possibility of a random drug test, and be worried about how CBD oil could affect that. The amount of time CBD stays in your system will vary, but generally it is not long.
Depending on many different factors such as weight, body type, sensitivity, etc., CBD’s effects can last for about 3-5 hours in your body. Additional factors such as how the CBD was consumed – i.e. through vaping or through ingestion, etc. – will also affect the length of time for which you will feel the effects. Vaping has one of the shortest active times in the body, and usually only lasts for 2 hours. Edibles, on the other hand, are much more longer lasting, and can be felt for around 6 hours.

But in terms of CBD presence in the body, it usually sticks around for around 5-7 days before it is gone. How active you are, your body type, and other things will all factor in to how long it takes before the CBD is all finally gone and undetectable by a drug test. But generally, when employers screen for drugs, they screen for THC and not CBD. THC is the psychoactive constituent of cannabis, and is only found in trace amounts in CBD oil since it is derived from industrial hemp, which contains very minimal amounts of THC to begin with (usually 0.3% or under).

So if you’re concerned about how long CBD will stay in your system, the answer is: Not long. Although CBD can be felt for up to 6 hours after ingesting, it can remain in the bloodstream for up to a week, but usually not more. And besides, when employers do give you a drug test, if they even test you, they most likely won’t be testing for CBD. CBD does not have any psychoactive effects, so it is not of concern to your workplace. In fact, CBD has been made legal in the U.S. as long as it is derived from industrial hemp, which contains less than 0.3% THC.

CBD in your system should not be of concern alone, for it will leave in a week, and doesn’t have any effect after 6 hours. What is a concern, however, is the trace amounts of THC that can sometimes show up on a drug screening; but generally there is nothing concerning CBD.

You can buy CBD oil in many forms, and not just drops as you may think. You can now get CBD gummies, capsules, and even CBD cream. CBD creams are a great way to incorporate CBD into your body, as they also act to address other issues such as dry skin and inflammation since you’re applying them topically. So now that you know about how long CBD can stay in your system – feel free to try out some CBD products and see which benefits you can incur.
